THE CHALLENGE
Redesigning the WSJ Digital experience for the iOS app: current product redesign and development of future features
THE DESIGN
Our team comprised of two workstreams - core product redesign (look and feel of the WSJ app to be more coherent, reliable, elegant, and intuitive) and new strategic features (leading-edge features that are adaptive, connected, and delightful).
We conducted a screen-by-screen audit and uncovered 180+ product fixes, and worked with leadership, product management and dev teams to create design system changes and production-ready assets for immediate implementation. We are also focused on generating audience insights and developing new future features leveraging emerging technology - including iterating on these features based on user feedback, leadership buy-in and strategic priorities, as well as technical feasibility toward prioritizing them in the product roadmap.
OUTCOME AND IMPACT
The work is currently ongoing and our design features are being shipped: in production and being rolled out through Q1-Q4 2025
